Listening to My Body
This week, I’ve been thinking about how deeply food can comfort us after surgery. After my breast reduction, I could see just how much the right nourishment helped my body feel steadier, calmer, and more supported.
It wasn’t just about protein or nutrients — it was about trusting that my body could heal if I offered it kindness through food.
That mindset shift brought me so much peace. There was no pressure to eat perfectly, just a sense of honoring what my body needed to rebuild.
Food as a Gentle Support
One thing I noticed was that every soft bite — a scrambled egg, a cup of broth, a piece of salmon — reminded me that food is more than fuel.
It’s a signal of care.
Adding simple things like beef tallow or grass-fed butter felt like I was giving my body the best tools to heal, without overwhelm or stress.
Even small choices, made with intention, can go a long way in helping you feel steady during recovery.
Permission to Keep It Simple
I know many women struggle after breast reduction, and if you’re in that space right now, I want to say: you’re not alone.
Give yourself permission to keep things simple. Listen for what feels good, and be open to adjusting day by day.
Your healing doesn’t have to look perfect to be real.
If you’d like more gentle support, I invite you to join our private Facebook group or explore the Healing Foods for Breast Reduction playlist on YouTube for more caring guidance.
Until next time,
Be gentle with your heart.
Be kind to your body.
And remember: healing doesn’t have to look perfect to be real.
Warmly,
Shelley💛
