Breast Reduction Recovery: What Affects Your Appetite

When you’re healing from breast reduction, your appetite can change in ways that surprise you. Some days you may feel less hungry, and other days your body might ask for more — without a clear pattern. It isn’t about restriction, willpower, or “getting it right.” It’s your body responding to safety, inflammation, and the stress of healing.

This post is part of my From the Vault series — revisiting the earliest pieces of my breast reduction journey and sharing them again for anyone who may have missed them. These early reflections still matter because appetite is deeply connected to nervous system healing, not just food.

Hi, I'm Shelley Beyer.

I’ve been through breast reduction surgery myself, and I’m here to support other women on that same path—before surgery, after surgery, and in the everyday healing that comes after.

I believe in reducing inflammation through a carnivore way of eating, preparing the body with intention, and creating space for the emotional, physical, and spiritual recovery this journey invites.

If you're navigating your own transformation, I’m so glad you're here.
